Make a decision, now

Dear Editor:The action – or, better said, inaction – of the City Council is outrageous, irresponsible and demonstrative of government at its worst (“City Council stalls residency probe,” May 23)!All involved should be profoundly ashamed! This issue is not rocket science. Either Ms. Kronberg is qualified or she is not.The charter says: “The Council shall be the judge of election and qualifications of its own members.” So judge! You are elected to make decisions – make one. And since you are the only ones with the facts before you (since you will not share them with the electing public), all the more reason that you should make a decision. This shameful performance has placed the entire election at risk. What is to prevent a post-election challenge (lawsuit?) that calls for the whole affair to be reversed due to the listing of unqualified candidates, regardless of the outcome?Truly outrageous and inexplicable, unless you have simply decided to abdicate your responsibilities, in which you should all stand down!James DeFranciaAspen
