Luther Leroy Albright

Lew passed away peacefully on Nov. 16 in Grand Junction.

Born to Thomas and Cora on Nov. 30, 1932 in Akron, Colo., Lew attended high school in Steamboat Springs and was a member of the ski team and the Golden Gloves boxing team. After graduation Lew joined the Marines. He met the love of his life, Louisa, his wife of 59 years, in Oak Creek, Colo.

Lew was a lifetime entrepreneur – security business, gas stations, general contracting and he established the first animal shelter in Aspen. Lew loved hunting and fishing with family and friends. A wonderful man who became friends with everyone he met.

Lew is survived by his wife, Louisa; sons Tom and Tracy; daughter Terri; grandsons Thomas, Joshua, Max and Sid; great-grandchildren Dylan, Tailyn and Natalia; and brothers Robert and David. Lew was preceded in death by his beloved son, Tim, his mother and father and his brother Chester.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

“Rest in Peace my love.”
