Low pay is low pay

Dear Editor:

When I read Aspen Skiing Co. VP Jim Laing’s statements about “anyone is available at anytime” and about being dumbfounded about concerns about paying certain employees $69 for a full-day private lesson that Skico charges $625 for, I was confused.

Perhaps that explains why Mr. Laing and Ms. Ertl never responded to numerous e-mails concerning a living wage for our least paid that were sent over the last six months?

The most important fact is still the most shocking: a $69 payment to the least paid instructor for a full day private that Skico charges $625 for borders on abuse.
