Aspen, CO ColoradoLouis Edward Thurber of Aspen passed away suddenly Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, after a brief but valiant fight against cancer. Born April 16, 1960, in Summit, N.J., Louis lived in Aspen and attended its public schools from 1968 to 1978. He returned to live in his beloved Aspen two years ago from St. Paul, Minn., where he was enrolled in the MBA program at St. John’s University. At his death, he was working at the Aspen Meadows hotel and resort.He is survived by his mother, Ernestine Ashley-Goodnough, and his stepfather, William Goodnough of Carbondale; father Louis Thurber Jr. of Belhaven, N.C.; sister Leigh Hitz of Denver; brother-in-law Jim Hitz; niece Carolyn Hitz and nephew Richard Hitz.The family plans a memorial service for friends and family in October.
