Loretta “Jeane” Adams, 67, passed away on Nov. 15, 2009, after a lengthy illness.Jeane was born March 1, 1942 in Fruita, Colo. to Ernest Byron and Lillian Augusta (Wesner) Boswell. She spent her childhood in Fruita, growing up on the family ranch located on 16 Road.Jeane graduated from Fruita High School and attended Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs. She married Robert Dee Adams in Fruita.Jeane was an office manager and bookkeeper for Greer Construction in Aspen for many years before having to retire due to health issues. She lived in Basalt and Carbondale, but had lived in Grand Junction for the past 14 years. She was a member of Fellowship Church in Grand Junction, she was a den mother for Cub Scouts of America, she had been active in 4H, Roping Club, National MS Society and was a hospice volunteer. Jeane enjoyed horses, flying, floral crafts and sketching. She loved to cook and entertain. She will be sorely missed.Jeane was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, who passed away in Redstone on March 9, 1976; her brother, Ronald Boswell, and sister, Lillian “Puggie” Green. She is survived by her son, Robb Adams of Heber City, Utah; daughter Terri L. Wise of Grand Junction; brother Ernest “Sonny” Boswell, Jr. of Senora, Calif.; sisters Shirley McKissen of Arizona and Bernita Reed of Tacoma, Wash.; five grandchildren: Jess Wise, Laurie Wise, Annie Wise, Kemshasa Housley and Robyn Adams; and four great-grandchildren: Chase Housley, Deverick Adams, Andrew Horner and Alora Adams.Memorial donations may be made in Jeane’s honor to the National MS Society or Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado.No services are planned per Jeane’s request.
