Looking for a witness

Dear Editor:

On Friday, Jan. 23, while the X Games was in process, my 10-year-old son was struck in the back of his head by an ice ball, which we think was thrown by one of two boys who were hiding behind my son.

This happened about 5-5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 82 and Owl Creek Road as my son was waiting for the light to change so he could cross the highway from Buttermilk. When hit, he lost consciousness and fell to the ground. He believes he was kicked by the boys while lying on the ground. A very kind man came by, helped him to his feet and walked with him across the street and on the way to our home.

I took my son immediately to the ER at the hospital, and the doctors said he suffered a concussion, leading to loss of memory and general confusion. I am so thankful for the man who helped my son and would love to speak with him. If you are reading this, please call me at 710-1299 so I can thank you in person.

Also, if anyone was driving on Highway 82 or Owl Creek Road or was otherwise in the area at the time and witnessed this assault on my son, please call me. Thank you for your consideration.
