Beloved husband and father Lonnie Robert Stott passed away Sept. 21, 2011 at Valley View Hospital. Lonnie was born June 16, 1938 in Callaway, Neb. to Charles and Helen Stott.

Lonnie was a fun-loving and humorous man who was never in a bad mood. He always had a smile on his face and was ever patient and loving. Lonnie had a strong love for ranching, haying, irrigating, tending his cattle and running his sawmill. Lonnie never stood still and loved to keep busy; he lived the life he loved and loved his family as much as they loved and cherished him. He was the rock of the family and was always there to help. He was especially proud of his military service and loved each one of his kids and 13 grandchildren.

Lonnie leaves behind the love of his life ,Alice, with whom he celebrated 46 years of marriage on Sept. 4. He had six children: Kim (Brian) Soucie, Stacey Stott, Tammy (Calvin) Kline, Nikkie (Jim) Fender, Danielle (Devon) Smith and Cody Stott; and 13 grandchildren: Brandon, Lindsey, Ashley, Alex, Jordan, Dillon, Lexi, Shelby, Savanna, Lilly, Julia, Hannah, and the newest addition, Lonnie Carson.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his father and mother, and baby sister Joyce Kaye.

Viewing will be Monday, Sept. 26, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Farnum Holt Mortuary in Glenwood Springs. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ in West Glenwood Springs. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Basalt.

Heaven has received a beautiful loving soul and we know that he is smiling down on his family and friends and his loving memory will never be forgotten. We are all thankful for the wonderful 73 years he lived and all who loved him will miss him deeply. Thank you, Dad, for being a wonderful loving husband and the best father we could have asked for.
