Lodging growth good for Aspen?
With recent news of several lodging-development proposals, this week’s poll question asks readers whether the current plans are good for Aspen.
Go to http://www.aspentimes.com, on the left side below the news carousel, to find this week’s question and the results of previous polls.
Last week’s poll question — “Is there enough pot business to sustain six retail marijuana stores in Aspen?” — brought in 1,106 votes. More than 58 percent of votes, or 642, were “no” votes, citing six shops in a town the size of Aspen as too many, even when considering peak tourism seasons. Nearly 18 percent of the votes, or 198, were “yes” votes, citing more pot smokers who live in and visit Aspen than people realize. Nearly 6 percent of the votes, or 65, were “I don’t know” votes, and the remaining 18 percent, or 201 votes, were “I don’t care” votes.
