Locked and loaded at the White House

Dear Editor:

I noticed that not a single member of the press asked President Barack Obama, “Since you mentioned it, sir, how many guns are in the White House today? Start with the Secret Service agents, and don’t forget the Marines. How many have magazines holding more than 10 rounds? How come you deserve that level of protection – as do your kids – but a working gal living in Colorado does not? Are the presence of these firearms in your house a sign of mental illness?”

Furthermore, gun bans are anti-women. Ask any rape victim or battered wife or girlfriend how the equation changes when the lady has a gun.

Homeland Security just ordered 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition. Not million, but billion. It claims for training purposes. That’s some training. These rounds are special. They are not “training rounds” but something a bit out there. They are “bonded core” bullets. A special process is used to make the copper jacket without separating it from the lead core. They cost four times as much to manufacture and are very time consuming to make. They will punch through body armor, car doors and other barriers with ease and without blowing apart. The Marines and Army don’t use this type of ammo when they go into full-on, fire-fight combat!

Training? My ass. I smell a rat.
