Local couple killed in Denver accident

El Jebel residents Edwin Santiago Sanchez and his wife, Delmi Elizabeth Perez de Sanchez, were killed in a traffic accident near Denver last week, while driving back to the valley from Texas.

Sanches’s brother and cousin were also killed in the accident. Perez de Sanchez’s sister was seriously injured and is in the hospital in Denver.

Sanchez worked at Explore Booksellers and at the Snowmass Club. Perez de Sanchez did housework for a private family.

The family of the victims is asking for donations to help cover medical and funeral expenses and to help care for the two children, ages five years and six months, who were orphaned by the crash.

An account – The Edwin Gomez Family Trust – has been opened at Alpine Bank to accept donations. To avoid confusion, the account number is 5510932973.
