Local churches get in the holiday spirit

For those planning to celebrate the spiritual aspect of the holidays, area churches are holding services on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Aspen Aspen Chapel will hold four Christmas Eve services. There will be a children’s service at 5:30 p.m. and family worship services at 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30 p.m. Aspen Chapel is located at 0077 Meadowood Drive (at the intersection of Castle Creek Road and Highway 82). Aspen Community Church (United Methodist) will host a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. and a Christmas Day service at 10:30 a.m. Aspen Community Church is located at 200 E. Bleeker St. For more information, call 925-1571.

Christ Episcopal Church will hold three Christmas Eve services at 5, 8:30 and 11 p.m. There will also be a Christmas Day service at 10 a.m. Christ Episcopal Church is located at 536 W. North St. For more information, call 925-3278.

First Baptist Church will hold three Christmas Eve services, at 5:30, 7 and 11 p.m. Child care will be available at the first two services. First Baptist is located at 726 W. Francis St. For more information, call 925-7828.

Messiah Lutheran Church invites the community to sing Christmas carols at 6 p.m. and will host a Christmas Eve service at 6:30 p.m. Messiah Lutheran is located at 1235 Mountain View Drive. For more information, call 925-7725.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church will hold two Christmas Eve and three Christmas Day services. On Dec. 24 there will be services at 7 p.m. and midnight. On Dec. 25 there will be services at 7:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. St. Mary’s is located at 533 E. Main St. For more information, call 925-7339. Snowmass Village Snowmass Chapel and Community Center will hold Catholic and Protestant services. Catholic services will be at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 5 p.m. on Christmas Day. Protestant services will be at 7 and 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The Snowmass Chapel is located at 5307 Owl Creek Road. (next to Anderson Ranch). For more information, call 923-6192. Basalt In Basalt four churches will host Christmas services.

Alpine Christian Fellowship will hold a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. Alpine Christian Fellowship is located at 0167 Holland Hills Road. For more information, call 927-3574.

Basalt Bible Church will hold its Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m. Basalt Bible Church is at 20451 Highway 82 (between Basalt and El Jebel). For more information, call 927-4342.

Basalt Community United Methodist Church will hold three Christmas Eve services, at 6:30, 8 and 11 p.m. Basalt Community Church is located at 200 E. Homestead Drive. For more information, call 927-4098.

St. Vincent Catholic Church will hold four holiday services in English and Spanish. On Christmas Eve there will be a 5:30 p.m. Spanish service and a 7:30 p.m. English service. On Christmas Day the 8:30 a.m. service will be conducted in English and the 10 a.m. service will be in Spanish.
