Listen to the community
The Aug. 6 community meeting to discuss the Snowmass Center and Base Village application could be a defining moment for our village, if only the Town Council would accept the community’s view on the direction that the two projects should take.
Over 250 people came to the meeting and expressed a view that the two projects are too big, too dense, too high, likely to create traffic and parking problems and apt to diminish the quality of life in our community.
I was left with the feeling, however, that the Town Council only heard what they wished to hear. It is important for the community to persist in our message and insist on compliance with the town’s comprehensive plan.
