Linda Ruth Diamond

Linda Ruth Diamond, 69, of Carbon­dale passed away Jan. 3, 2010 at home.

Linda was born Sept. 16, 1940, in Jer­sey City, N.J., to Stanley and Ruth Johnson. She married Edward Diamond, M.D. in 1969 in New Jersey. Dr. Dia­mond passed away a month ago, on Dec. 4, 2009.

Linda was a trained nurse, and worked actively in obstetrics-gynecology nursing in New Jersey. She was an active volunteer for the South Orange, NJ Rescue Squad. Linda was a resident first of Snowmass Village and then Car­bondale, since 1971. She was an active member of the commu­nity and, along with Dr. Diamond, an inspiring participant in the Aspen Music Festival and School.

Linda is survived by sons Gary, Steven, and Stu­art Diamond; daughter Mira Baidwan; sister Virginia Mahoney; nine grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family sug­gests memorial contributions to be sent to Dr. Diamond’s alma mater, Franklin and Marshall College, and the American Cancer Society.
