Limiting dump truck visits

Dear Editor:As I write this, seven dump trucks have gone by my condo in the area of Hyman and Aspen Street in the last five minutes. That could be 84 dump trucks in an hour.Construction is allowed 12 hours a day. Stretching a point to make one, I could have as many as 1,008 dump trucks going by my house every day all summer. Quality of life and construction management were big topics at last night’s squirm night. If a council or mayoral candidate really wanted to help the people that do live in town survive the next few years, maybe a reasonable response and good compromise would be to limit construction hours to 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.Currently construction is allowed six days a week, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. It would benefit the entire community to have peace and serenity after work and on weekends. I realize projects will take longer but at least some quality of life living in this construction zone would be possible.Valerie MacDonaldAspen
