Life’s dirty little secret

Dear Editor:Mental illness: depression, bipolar, old, schizophrenia …The stigma must be removed if we are going to save our kids and the adults we love. Physical illnesses, such as diabetes, are openly talked about and mental illnesses must follow suit. We all know someone with this affliction and it’s just something they have. The illness is not their fault, they just can’t “get over it” and people can be helped.When my incredible mother was dying, I talked with a wonderful psychologist in New Jersey and took medication.
