Let’s share a laugh together
November 19, 2010
Let’s play connect the dots:
Everyone has spare coats taking up space in their closets. Everyone needs more laughter in their lives.
The connection? The third annual Comedy for Coats in Carbondale this Saturday. This is your chance to grab a few under-used, winter garments and direct them to a couple of worthy organizations: Feed My Sheep in Glenwood Springs and the Southern Ute Indian Reservation in southern Colorado.
Eight comics will hit the stage at Steve’s on Saturday, and a warm coat plus $5 will get you in the door.
Here’s the hitch: We want to gather at least 100 coats, but Steve’s only seats around 60 people. So, to hit this goal we need people to bring more than one garment, or – if you can’t make the show but still want to contribute – you can still drop off a coat or two at Solar Energy International on 2nd Street in Carbondale through Saturday. (Comedian April Clark works there.)
Recommended Stories For You
We’re moving into the season of giving and sharing – and the season of shivering. So the valley’s comics are hoping you will come out to smile and laugh and share a little warmth with a stranger in need. Even though they can’t make the show, we know it will put a smile on their faces.
If you can’t make it upvalley but have a coat donation, drop me a line and I’ll make arrangements: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Should be a fun show: April, Alexa, Beth, Bob, Billy, Don, Glenn and me. Doors at 7:30, show time 8:15.
Thanks for laughing. And thanks for sharing.
