Let’s finish our hydro investment
Dear Editor:
Voting “yes” on 2C for the hydro plant is very simple. There was an election in which we, the voters of Aspen, overwhelmingly voted 72 percent in favor of the hydro plant. The city issued bonds to build the hydro plant, which is now two-thirds built. If we do not finish the project, we still have to pay back the bonds.
The hydro plant on Maroon Creek has been in place for 26 years without problems; few people even know it’s there. We moved to Aspen not for skiing but for fly-fishing. We would not vote for anything to harm our rivers and streams.
Again, it’s simple. Vote “yes” on 2C for the hydro plant.
