Let’s ban all noise

Dear Editor:

I’m writing in response to Buddy Ortega’s letter, “Ground the flying potato.” I completely and wholeheartedly agree with Mr. Ortega. The fact that an airplane such as the Piaggio Avanti P-180 makes noise, oftentimes causing annoying, painful and mentally anguishing living conditions for the residents of Aspen, is intolerable.

Besides the fact that the P-180 is the “greenest,” most fuel-efficient and one of the safest corporate aircraft in the sky and carries millions of external revenue dollars to the Aspen community, it should be banned not only in Aspen, but worldwide.

Furthermore, I firmly believe that all noise-making activities in the Aspen community should be abolished … like fireworks on the Fourth of July or cheerleaders at a high school football game.

I wish to Mr. Ortega nothing but well wishes on his quest to eliminate noise from the Roaring Fork Valley.
