Let’s all get along

In response to a couple of dog complaints: To me, it is quite sad that people, especially in this environment, cannot see past things such as dogs running around and just enjoy that we are all privileged to live here and can all respect each other enjoying the pristine mountain air and stupendous views.

Dogs, supposedly, are man’s best friend. I, for one, have rarely met a dog I didn’t like. Hence, as a child I was bitten a few times for not understanding the whole territorial thing.

Do these people who jog, run and bike ever come across dogs, such as many I look after, that actually have no interest in strangers petting them? Dogs, like us, tend to know when to advance and when to retreat. If I ever walk a dog with a penchant for moving objects, then I leash him or her.

One of the greatest additions to our great outdoors over the past two winters is the dog track at the golf course. The dogs stay away from the skiers, and vice-versa. Now, if we could get EVERYONE to pick up their doggy poop.

Let’s all get along.
