Let your laundry fly

Dear Editor:

Re: “Basalt to air its clean laundry” (April 23)…

What a great job Aleksandra Rousset and Tyler Wilson did, asking the Basalt Town Council to support legislation to use our clotheslines, which makes so much sense. Thank you, teacher Sean Goodman and the high school environmental club the Planeteers. You can be proud you, for the first time in six years, directly influenced such a significant policy, pointing out concern about carbon emissions generated by the use of dryers.

Thank you Basalt Council for passing the resolution to prohibit subdivisions from banning clotheslines to dry clothes. It is impressive what you are doing in Basalt High school to help reduce global warming.

Carolyn and Ray Owen
