Let there be peace

Dear Editor:

I have waited a long time before responding to the letters of Sue Gray and her detractors, not wishing to be defamed in the media.

I believe that all humans have the right to peacefully inhabit the Earth, to have the basic necessities of food, clothing and shelter so that they may seek God in their own fashion. The Palestinians have no rights under the Israeli rule. They are an oppressed people.

All I hear is the Palestinians killed this many and the Israelis killed this many. As long as the atrocities of the past are in the forefront there will never be peace. Where is the forgiveness? It is time to put the past behind and continue from this day to respect human rights and end aggression.

Sue has my respect because she is willing to endure the opposition of so many to put forth her opinion in a public forum. It seems to me that too many of us are taking a defensive posture instead of addressing the injustice here.

We as a people should not condone the oppression of any person. Let’s stop all foreign aid to any government that practices the oppression of their people.
