Let Droste be

Dear Editor:

Just reading about the naming of the Droste trail. Not that it matters, nor do I really care what they name it, but in the same light that 1A is not the Ajax Express, Sopris is not John Denver Peak, The Mill Iron Ranch is not Paradise Ranch or whatever they call it now, and on and on, the Droste trail will always be the Droste trail. On a related note, I guess historic designation only applies to … on second thought, I won’t go there. The town is just too small, ha.

Finally, not wanting to be labeled a chronic Aspen complainer and letter writer, I ride that trail a few days per week, and regardless, a huge atta-boy to the people that created it. Not sure it’s worth what we paid (damn, it’s hard to be 100 percent positive even when handing out kudos in this town ;-)), but now that we have it, it really is a jewel of a property and one of the best mountain biking trails around.
