Leonard ‘Lanny’ Gertler

Leonard “Lanny” Gertler, 71, was the loving and devoted husband of Judith for 47 years, cherished father of Tamar (Matthew) Kane and Ari Gertler, and adoring grandfather of Kayla and Hailey Kane.

He will be greatly missed by his entire extended family, including the associates of All American Home Center in Downey, Calif., which he and his father, Irving Gertler, started in 1959. Lanny was a part-time resident of Aspen for more than 30 years, served on the board of the Aspen Music Festival and School and supported the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, along with other local causes.

He loved to ski, hike and photograph the outdoors.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, Calif.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (www.themmrf.org) or Liberty Hill Foundation (www.libertyhill.org).
