Francis St., AspenAdmission: FreeTwo members of Rocky Mountain Institute’s energy and resources team will discuss national electric power during a lecture at the Given Institute.In “Man versus Machine: Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Smart Utilities of the Future,” John Anderson and Christina Page will talk about RMI’s work with utilities to increase efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. They’ll also discuss problems with the way the nation’s power supply is delivered. A new software program called “Stella” models the carbon dioxide emissions of electric utilities in various scenarios. The audience will be invited to challenge Stella to a game of “Reduce Those Emissions!”The lecture is the first of RMI’s 2006 “Quest for Solutions” series, bringing major national issues to a local audience. A wine and cheese reception will follow.
