Latino festival a success

Hats off to Colorado Mountain College for hosting last week’s Latino Youth Festival. They did an excellent job pulling off a very complicated event. On behalf of the Stepstone Center, I would like to thank all those who made our participation and contributions to this very worthwhile gathering possible.

This includes the Aspen Valley Community Foundation Spring Board, the Chinook Fund, Resist, the Walcott Family Fund, the Gay and Lesbian Fund for Colorado, the City of Aspen, the Town of Basalt, the Aspen Rotary Club, the Musser Fund, the Thrift Shop and the individual members of the Stepstone Center.

The day focused on educating Latino teens about issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, suicide prevention, teen pregnancy and other issues; but our entire community benefits from the lessons they learned.
