Kudos to Basalt soccer team

Dear Editor:They are doing it again. The Basalt girls varsity soccer team are hitting wins with shutouts, when the opponents are never allowed to score a goal. This is accomplished with magnificent teamwork from the defensive line.Strong kicks are made to the front line by the likes of Kate Wilson, Bailey Holmes, Katy Mulcahy. And more enforcers accomplishing these dazzling shutouts and sacrificing legally allowed body parts are Emily Birk, Jenna Bontempo, Amy Brumet. The goaltender, Dayne Toney, displays great agility at the net, throwing her body left and right to block the opponents’ kicks.Basalt’s great defensive team is rated No. 2 in the state, and the offensive team is rated No. 3 in the state. These soccer girls hang in there playing tough until the final goal, until the final minute.Julia JacobsenBasalt
