Klaus says thanks
Dear Editor:Sport Obermeyer thanks the Aspen Chamber Resort Association for naming us the 2005 Aspen business of the year. It’s really terrific, and we greatly appreciate this honor. We love Aspen and our mountain laboratory to create clothing that allows people to experience the outdoors comfortably. Sport Obermeyer has proudly called Aspen home for nearly 60 years. This award came at the culmination of our 15-year tradition of bringing our most influential retailers here to see the new collection. In addition to buying the new line, they are also able to experience our mountains, dining, lodging and of course shopping. During the first two weeks of January, Sport Obermeyer brings in approximately 130 retailers from throughout the country. They love Aspen as much as we do. Little did I ever dream that when I came to Aspen from Germany in 1947 to teach skiing that I would still love this sport today. We are fortunate to have a great staff of 50 who love creating outdoor wear and experiencing the many opportunities that await us every day. So we at Sport Obermeyer promise to continue to represent Aspen as a fabulous place to work and play. Congratulations to the Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club – they wear our ski- and boardwear – for being selected the 2005 nonprofit organization of the year, and Black Diamond Limousines for their award as the emerging business of the year. We wish them much success for a great Aspen future. Thank you, Aspen Chamber Resort Association. See you on the slopes. Klaus ObermeyerAspenFounder, Sport Obermeyer
