Keystone skier died of chest trauma

KEYSTONE, Colo. ” The Summit County coroner says the 13-year-old skier who died after hitting a tree was Kenneth Joyce of Glastonbury, Conn.

He suffered massive chest trauma when he hit a tree on an advanced run at the Keystone resort Tuesday, according to Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson. Joyce had been wearing a helmet, resort officials confirmed Tuesday.

The teen was pronounced dead at a Frisco hospital.

Officials say Joyce and his family had been visiting from Connecticut since Saturday.
