Kerry disappointed at Mezzaluna

Aspen Times writer

Dear Editor:It was nice to see the delayed arrival of Sen. Kerry. The last time I saw him in Aspen, he was waiting in line ahead of me with Mort Zuckerman, who was waving a $20 bill at Sharif Souki trying to get into Mezzaluna at holiday time. The manager took both Kerry and Zuckerman around to the back door. How disheartening it was to see a public official resort to going along with this tactic. It was especially disappointing to a man who, as a kid, chartered his first school bus to a Vietnam Vets Against the War Rally that featured John Denver, Peter Yarrow and one John F. Kerry.I remain not a Republican, not a Democrat.Michael BuysseAspen Highlands
