Keep Shadow Mountain pristine

We are writing to plead that Aspenites keep Shadow Mountain as rural and undeveloped as possible.

As tourists we visit about four weeks out of the year, and cannot imagine how pock marks of mansions would look lining the base and Midland Trail. We visit Aspen for its natural beauty: Ute City Park, the Rio Grande Trail and – of course – its ski mountains.

We love looking up at Ajax Mountain and seeing just that – a mountain. To gaze right and see Shadow Mountain pristine and untouched is invaluable. Keep Shadow Mountain undeveloped. Future generations will be grateful.
