Keep giving back

Dear Editor:

Last month I was honored to be the city of Aspen Volunteer of the Year. I am deeply moved by the recognition. I clearly understand that the award is really a proxy for the many volunteers who have given enormous quantities of time and emotional commitment to their boards, not-for-profits, committees and individual events that benefit others.

Conflicting positions often come in front volunteer boards. It is not always easy to resolve the differences. I applaud all of those willing to put themselves in such challenging situations. Keep it up. The community needs you. Thank you.

Howie Mallory
