KDNK gives thanks

Aspen Times writer

Dear Editor:There are special moments that are hard to define, but the experience transcends all expectations. The Jim Hightower visit to Carbondale to help KDNK was one of those moments. We at KDNK want to thank the KDNK community and Jim Hightower for helping to remind us why we are in the business of independent, community radio. We also want to thank High Point Distributing, Charlie Chacos and the Village Smithy, Main Street Liquors, Novel Tea Bookstore, Marianne Ackerman. Aspen Daily News, The Aspen Times, The Post Independent and The Valley Journal for helping us pull this off. These things don’t happen without the help of many volunteers, not only for the event but year-round.Jim Hightower was so down to earth and direct, it was great to have the chance to get up close and personal with him. He also raised KDNK more than $2,000, which will help KDNK maintain a healthy diet of independent news, views and music.Thank you!The KDNK staffMary Suma,Leslie Johnson,Amy Kimberly,Wick Moses,Luke Nestler,Annie Pizey
