Karlinski fails to advance in boardercross

ASPEN ” Snowmass Village snowboarder Jordan Karlinski failed to advance out of Friday’s women’s boardercross heats, finishing 14th.

The top 12 riders, led by France’s Dominique Maltais, move on to Saturday’s semifinals at Buttermilk.

Defending champion Joanie Anderson also failed to move on, finishing a disappointing 16th.

Karlinski, 18, raced in her first Winter X Games at just 15. Her top finish came last year, when she qualified for her first final and finished fourth. In her two previous appearances, Karlinski finished 12th and 10th.

Saturday’s six-rider final is slated for 1 p.m.
