Just say thanks
During these trying times for the Aspen Police Department, it is easy to forget one heavily impacted group. That group is the men and women who staff the department each day. While the water roils around them, they are charged with continuing to serve the Aspen community.
Over the last month, the men and women of the department have responded to more than 1,000 calls, and they continue to provide the high standard of customer service the community expects of them.
The department is also moving forward with new improvements, including the implementation of new computer systems and a push toward converting patrol cars to hybrid vehicles.
The department has my utmost respect and gratitude. Kudos to our officers for the job they do, day in and day out. We are fortunate to have such a committed and a dedicated police force.
A little encouragement goes a long way during trying times. Please join me in offering a word of support to those Aspen Police Department employees you encounter.

It’s hard to fight City Hall and even harder to fight well-funded neighbors who don’t want any development near them, a local man has realized. So he settled for less than what he and his partner bought the property for.
