Just plain un-American

Dear Editor:

Last week, Garfield County Commissioner John Martin introduced a resolution that would force county commissioners with differing opinions to represent only the majority view of the commission. (Glenwood Springs Post Independent, Jan. 27).

That’s just plain un-American.

Garfield County voters elected all three county commissioners and they want to hear each of their opinions. After all what’s more American than free speech and dissenting opinions?

Tell John Martin to respect the voters of Garfield County and respect the different views represented on the commission to put an end to an Un-American resolution.

Thank Commissioner Mike Samson for tabling the issue.
