Just like Norway

Dear Editor:

This Saturday, the Rio Grande Trail from Aspen to Basalt will feel a lot like Norway: hundreds of nordic skiers kicking and gliding from one town to the next as part of the second Town to Town Tour organized by the Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers.

Start from the Rio Grande Park registration in Aspen and enjoy the plentiful food and drinks, beautiful scenery, and good company as you ski to the finish party at the high school in Basalt.

This event pays tribute to our extensive nordic trail system which provides a unique opportunity to ski between our communities.

Thanks to Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers, Pitkin County, City of Aspen, and the Aspen Snowmass Nordic Council for supporting this tour as a celebration of trail connectivity, winter, and skiing.
