Junction woman runs over herself

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. ” Grand Junction police say a woman was accidentally run over and killed as she tried to get into the driver’s seat of a pickup in front of her apartment complex.

Police say 49-year-old Paivi Hopson was found May 26. They announced Friday that their investigation concluded the death was accidental.

The truck was parked on an incline in a driveway with the manual transmission in neutral and the emergency brake set.

Police say Hopson released the brake as she entered the truck, causing it to roll down the driveway before she was fully inside. The truck rolled over her.

Emergency medical personnel tried to resuscitate her, but she died of her injuries.
