GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. ” An officer-involved shooting in Grand Junction has sent one person to the hospital.

Police say officers responded to a report of felony menacing and shots fired, but discovered the suspects had left the scene by the time they arrived.

Officers later located the vehicle and one suspect at another location. Police spokeswoman Linda Bowman says shots were fired during the course of that contact, and the suspect was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction early Tuesday.

The suspect’s condition is unknown.

Bowman says the 21st Judicial District’s Critical Incident Team is investigating, which is standard for incidents involving law enforcement officers that use lethal force on duty.
