Junction man charged in fatal rollover

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. ” A Grand Junction man faces numerous charges, including vehicular homicide, after a fatal accident on Interstate 70 near De Beque on Wednesday evening.

Dusty Reeves, 24, is being held at the Mesa County jail in Grand Junction on charges of vehicular homicide, two counts of felony vehicular assault, drunk driving and five counts of careless driving causing injury.

Jennifer Torbet, 22, of Grand Junction, was killed in the crash, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

Torbet was the front passenger in a Chevy Trailblazer that Reeves was driving, according to authorities. The vehicle went out of control on westbound I-70 shortly before 7:30 p.m.

Four of the SUV’s seven occupants were ejected from the vehicle when it left the interstate and rolled, troopers said.

Khristopher Hayes, 21, and Chassity Gross, 22, suffered serious injuries, according to the patrol.

Kane Davis, 24; Steven Creech, 24; and Steven Umberger, 21, were also passengers in the SUV and were also transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction.
