Joseph J ‘Seppi’ Bogner
Aspen, CO Colorado
In loving memory of Joseph J “Seppi” Bogner of Glenwood Springs, who passed away at his home on Feb. 23, 2011. He was 83.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Anna Heiman; father, Johann; sister, Margarete, “Gretl”; nephew, Karl-Michael, and recently, his brother, Karl.
He is survived by his beloved children, Betty, Bob, Bernie and Barb; two grandchildren, Erik and Megan; and his nephews, Alfred, Arthur and Wolfgang.
He was born in Weiden, Germany, on Feb. 13, 1928 and came to America as a young man bringing along his new bride, Christel. They settled in Buffalo, N.Y. and started raising a family. Seppi, as he was affectionately known around Glenwood and on the mountain, loved to ski and bicycle. This is what led him to Colorado and his subsequent 20-plus years on the ski patrol of Aspen Highlands.
Dad, you are loved and greatly missed by everyone who met you. May your spirit soar as you ride your bike and ski in the heavens above. Please watch over us as we wish you good biking and skiing. May you rest in peace, your loving children.
The Colorado Court of Appeals ruled Thursday that a limited-liability company has proper standing to sue the city of Aspen over its affordable-housing fees.
