The Aspen community mourns the loss of Jordan Bullock, a vibrant and visionary entrepreneur, Pure Barre Master Teacher Trainer and Instructor, and beloved friend to many. Jordan passed away leaving behind a legacy of resilience, innovation, and unwavering love for her community.
She was the proud owner of multiple businesses in Aspen, including the Pure Barre and CycleBar fitness studios, Aspen Athleisure, and Oakberry. A true trailblazer in the fitness industry, she opened Pure Barre Aspen in 2011 and then relocated CycleBar and Pure Barre to be the first dual studio in the country just six months before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. When the world came to a standstill, she rose to the occasion, becoming the first franchise owner to offer at-home bike rentals and stream fitness classes live from her studio. Through this, she provided a vital lifeline for people craving movement, motivation, and connection during an uncertain time.
Beyond her business acumen, Jordan was known for her generosity, infectious energy, and constant drive to uplift others. Her passion for fitness was matched only by her passion for people. As a master instructor, she brought out the best in her clients, empowering them with every pulse and tuck.
Her commitment to Aspen went far beyond the studio. She was an active and loving member of the community, often seen strolling the streets with her beloved Bernese Mountain Dog, Barrett (“Bear”). The sight of the two of them — Jordan in stylish athleisure, Barrett proudly trotting beside her — was a fixture of local life.
Her legacy is not just in the businesses she built or the classes she led but in the lives she touched. She created a home base for many in Aspen, a place where friendships were formed, where confidence was rebuilt, where music and movement reminded people of their own resilience. Jordan was a leader, a doer, and a light whose brilliance will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
A celebration of life will be held at Casa Tua on April 4 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. This event is open to the public.
