John Young for county office

Dear Editor:

As the mayor of the newly created town of Tusayan, Ariz., I recognized that there could be a lot to learn from the ski towns in Colorado as to how they handle their affordable housing.

We were fortunate to find a consulting firm with John B. Young as a managing director. John is guiding us through the A-to-Z’s of the creation of the many projects he has been involved in throughout the mountains and applying his experience to our situation. We have 4.5 million tourists a year passing through our town as they enter or exit the Grand Canyon National Park. Our employee needs are many.

He has showed us the varying types of housing possible with the purpose of constructing housing as soon as possible. John’s approach of engaging the employees first, before addressing the principals involved, demonstrated his sincere concern over their plight of finding reasonable housing. Pitkin County is fortunate to have a candidate as qualified and caring as John.

I would highly recommend that you vote for him in the upcoming primary election.

Greg Bryan

Mayor, Tusayan, Ariz.
