John Salazar receives third term in House

DENVER ” Democratic Rep. John Salazar has been re-elected to the House from Colorado’s largest geographical district.

Salazar defeated Republican Wayne Wolf 61 percent to 39 percent, with 71 percent of the projected vote counted.

Salazar was first elected in 2004, replacing retired Republican Rep. Scott McInnis.

The district includes all of western Colorado and parts of southeastern Colorado, including Pueblo. Salazar’s brother is Sen. Ken Salazar, who will become the state’s senior senator with the retirement in January of Republican Sen. Wayne Allard.
