John Raymond Lowderback

Former longtime Aspen resident John Raymond Lowderback died Jan. 8 at Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale. He was 82 years old.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club No. 184 for 55-plus years. He was also a proud 20-year retired member of the Aspen Volunteer Fire Department.

Lowderback was preceded in death by his wife Marge and stepdaughter Carolyn Currie. He is survived by brother Edward of Aspen; daughter Rose Marie (Stan) Lauriski of Aspen; sons Cecil (Bev) of Spokane, Wash., Denny (Dee) of Akron, Ind., Dicky of Denver, Colo., and Butch of Page Ariz.; stepdaughters Liz Williams of Minnesota and Lucy Fithian of California; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
