Music legend John Oates, best known as the co-founder of the record-breaking duo Hall & Oates, is set to appear at the Wheeler Opera House on Feb. 28 and March 1.
These intimate shows will celebrate his remarkable five-decade career, weaving together classic hits, personal anecdotes, and the musical styles that have influenced his work. Oates, whose achievements include induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the American Songwriters Hall of Fame, has sold more than 80 million albums, earned 10 number-one tracks, and accumulated over 20 Top 40 hits.
He returns to Aspen, a place he holds dear, for two distinct performances.
On Feb. 28 at 7 p.m., Oates will present a reflective evening featuring personal stories, iconic songs, and highlights from his solo catalog, including material from his latest albums. His set will include vivid recollections from his best-selling memoir, “Change of Seasons.”
Taking the stage beforehand is Tristan Trincado, a gifted senior at Basalt High School and winner of the 2024 Aspen Rocks competition. Trincado’s debut track, “Sinner,” appears on the Gibson Guitar playlist, and he has been praised by the company’s CEO for his soulful, expressive voice.

On March 1 at 7 p.m., Oates will focus on the rhythms and styles that shaped his signature sound, spanning folk, blues, and R&B favorites. He plans to mix beloved Hall & Oates hits, deeper album cuts, and tributes to the artists who inspired him. Joining him on stage is an acoustic trio made up of local musician John Michel and Nashville standouts Nathaniel Smith and Sam Wilson.
Opening that night is singer-songwriter Gracie Feinberg, an Aspen Rocks alum and senior at Aspen High School who has been performing since age nine. She is currently working on her first album at Mad Dog Ranch+Studios in collaboration with the Inspire Aspen Foundation.
Tickets are now available at the Wheeler Opera House box office, located at 320 E. Hyman Ave. in Aspen, open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m., or by phone at 970-920-5770.
