John L. McNeil

Aspen resident John L. McNeil died suddenly at his residence on June 23. He was 38 years old.

McNeil was a native of Ortonville, Mich., the son of Larry and Marge McNeil, who now live in Pisgah Forest, N.C.

He was a 1981 graduate of Brandon High School in Ortonville, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

McNeil is survived by his parents; daughter Mariah, of Aspen; sister Cheri McNeil, of Carbondale; and brother David, of Auburn Hills, Mich.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday on top of Aspen Mountain. The gondola will begin running at 9:30 a.m. for those wishing to attend.

Anyone wishing to contribute to a fund for McNeil’s daughter may make a contribution at the Wells Fargo Bank in Aspen, in care of Cheryl McNeil.
