John Francis Woods died July 11, 2008, in Denver. He was born April 27, 1959, in Pettersburg, Va., and grew up in Timonium, Md. He graduated in 1977 from Dulaney Senior High School and later attended the University of Baltimore.

John worked as a network administrator in Baltimore before moving to Basalt, where he served as an IT specialist, surrounded by “the most spectacular workplace in the world.” John was the “quiet one” in the room, but always got in the last word. He is survived by his parents, John and Margot Woods, of Bluffton, S.C., daughter Jennifer, of La Plata, Md., his sister, Margot Kenzie, of Naples, Fla., and his brother, Paul Woods, of Reisterstown, Md.

A memorial service will take place at a later date. Donations can be made to Denver Hospice.
