Jewel to play the Wheeler

Aspen Times Staff Report

The Wheeler Opera House, Aspen’s jewel of a music venue, will play host to a jewel of a singer next week.

Singer-songwriter Jewel, whose debut album, “Pieces of You,” spent months on top of the sales charts, will play the Wheeler next Friday, Jan. 22.

Tickets for the concert, sponsored by Vogue magazine and a benefit for the organization Free Tibet, will go on sale Monday, Jan. 18. Tickets are $50.

Jewel’s most recent CD, “Spirit,” was released last month, and has yielded the hit single “Hands.” The Alaskan-born Jewel has also written a book of poetry, “Night Without Armor,” that has become a bestseller.
