All that food – all those dishes.

Looking to get your fill of turkey, mashed potatoes and all those other Thanksgiving fixings but not thrilled by the idea of the cleanup?Head over to the Hickory House, where the restaurant will be putting on its annual free feast today. From 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the restaurant will serve up enough grub to feed the entire town. OK, maybe not that much, but it seems that way.

The point is, it’s not hard to get full. All the Hickory House asks is a $5 donation, which will go toward the Buddy Program.

Downvalley, the Rev. Marie Gasau of the Methodist church in Basalt said she and a host of helpers delivered Thanksgiving baskets to 82 families Wednesday. The helpers included volunteers from the Basalt schools, Boy Scouts and Future Business Leaders of America. In Glenwood Springs, the Hotel Colorado will offer a buffet from 4 to 8 p.m.; call 945-6511. The Ramada Inn will also have a Thanksgiving Day buffet from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; call 945-2500. And the Eagles Lodge in Glenwood will provide a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will deliver meals to shut-ins.
