Today, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

$10 for the first dog, $5 for each additional dog

Bring your dog for a day of fun in the pool; humans are not permitted to enter the pool with the dogs. Dogs must be current on rabies and get along with other dogs. All proceeds go to Lucky Day Animal Rescue Colorado.

Aspen is rightly known as a dog-friendly town — bellmen give treats to pups strolling by, banks offer biscuits to their canine customers and many offices are home to pooches as well as people (including The Aspen Times). In honor of man’s best friend — and the fact that today is the Aspen Recreation Center’s annual Doggie Day — we spent the past few days with dogs of all stripes for this installment of A Week in the Life …
